Trevor Murphy

Long Service Award

Nottinghamshire County (EBF) were delighted to present an award to Trevor Murphy at the last game of the season to recognise his 50 years of playing service to the county.   


Trevor played his first game on Saturday, July 26th 1969, representing Nottinghamshire against Huntingdon.   


In 1989, Trevor was the National Singles Champion for England, winning the Proctor Cup and appearing on the front cover of the World Bowls Magazine.  He also went on to win many other County titles and has played over 200 times in his 50 years.  


Nottinghamshire County (EBF) congratulated Trevor on his service and achievements with a special gift.

Dave Adams

100 Major Titles

Notts bowler Dave Adams has reached a rare bowling honour by winning his 100th major title.   


Dave who plays for Rolls Royce bowls club in Hucknall started competitive bowling in 1993 and has now won 


His first title came in 1994 when he was the first-ever winner of the indoor County singles. His 100th came in 2020 just before lockdown winning the County indoor mixed triples with his wife Janet and club mate A J Rana. This means on average he has won 4 County titles every season of his competitive career.

Dave is only the second bowler in the history of the Outdoor Federation to win the National secretaries title on three separate occasions.   


He and his wife Janet are only the second pair ever to have won the National EBF mixed pairs outdoor title twice.   


In 2015 Dave became only the fourth player in the 95-year history of the Nottinghamshire EBF to win both singles titles in the same season, the Evening Post 2 wood singles and the Coronation Cup 4 wood singles.   


Over the years Dave has represented the county over 200 times both indoor and outdoor and is still a regular in the county teams.   


Dave has won every county competition, indoor and outdoor, except for the Jesse Boot Shield. Before he finishes his career this remains his one last goal. 


Despite his busy bowling career, Dave has still found time in the past to be Nottinghamshire EBF county secretary, President of the Nottinghamshire Indoor Bowling Association and club secretary for Rolls Royce for the last 10 years.   


Dave has also enjoyed much success in tournaments at Skegness, along with his wife Janet they have won a total of 26 Jolly Fishermen over the years.


Russ Pearce

50 Major Titles

Russ Pearce, who currently plays bowls for Cavaliers Bowls Club, Nottingham and Nottingham Indoor Bowls Club, has been bowling competitively for almost 35 years and last weekend saw him win his 50th County competition with fellow Cavaliers bowler Russ Chamberlin.   


Russ won his first NCBA title in 1994 which was the Coronation Cup; this was also the first year he represented Nottinghamshire EBF His 50th success was the Captain Ball Trophy in July 2019 which increased his total to 20 outdoor titles and 30 indoor titles.   


Russ is the second person to achieve this major milestone following on from Dave Adams who also added to his tally of county wins at the recent finals day.

Throughout all his personal achievements, Russ has also represented Nottinghamshire at the National finals where he has won 


He has also been a member of the Adams County Team on four occasions winning the National title at Skegness and representing Nottinghamshire 150 times to date.
