Competition Guide
Notes to INDOOR Competitors
Where residential proximity necessitates home matches may be played outside the County boundary on a mutually agreed indoor green. (New rule brought in 2023)
Notes to OUTDOOR Competitors
Date Offering – General
It is recommended that, when initial contact is made, three dates are offered as per the rules. If necessary, other dates can then be discussed but if a mutually agreeable date cannot be identified then one of the original three dates must be accepted.
Date Offering - County Match Days
If you are to offer the date of a County match please see Competition Rule 11.
Date Acceptance
Although no rule currently exists as to when the away competitor must reply accepting one of the dates offered, it is important that this is achieved within 48 hours.
Play-By and Play-On Dates
Please note that dates will be strictly adhered to. Failure to comply with the dates will usually lead to immediate expulsion from the competition.

Final Rounds
All finals (excluding Champion of Champions, Simon Cup and Queen of Midlands) will be played on:
For 2024:
*Sunday 7th July at Polly Bowls Club.
*This date is subject to change where players may be in multiple finals, or due to inclement weather. In which case, dates/venues will be advised.
This will be decided nearer the time, once the finalists are known.
If unable to play on the finalised dates, players will be expected to field a substitute or withdraw from the competition.
The Competition Secretary will inform those participating of the time and date they will be playing. Please arrive in good time before the stated start time to avoid delays.
If you have qualified for the NCBA Finals in more than one competition, you may be expected to play more than once in a day. This is due to the shortened time frame to complete all of the matches. You are expected to do this during the National Finals.
